5-STEP LEARNING CYCLE™In Step 1 you will hear and read about a perspective on a practice dilemma.  The dilemma is about a teacher who wants to maximize the benefits of storybook reading for the children in her class.

5-STEP LEARNING CYCLE™In Step 2 you will turn the dilemma about enhancing storybook reading into an answerable question to help guide the search for evidence on the effectiveness of dialogic reading.

5-STEP LEARNING CYCLE™In Step 3 you will consider the following key sources of general evidence about dialogic reading practices. First you will learn about the research related to dialogic reading. Then dialogic reading will be defined and further explained with examples and activities. Last, you will learn about policy guidelines and experience-based knowledge related to early language and literacy development.

5-STEP LEARNING CYCLE™In Step 4 you will integrate sources of evidence, different perspectives and contexts unique to the dilemma in Step 1 to make an informed decision.

5-STEP LEARNING CYCLE™In Step 5 you will consider ways to evaluate the plan for using dialogic reading practices that resulted from the decision-making process.
