C. Review and Make Decisions about Next Steps

Once a decision has been reached to use tiered instruction, Emily and Michelle will need to think about whether and how to implement these practices in their early childhood program.

Before you are able to begin implementing tiered instruction, a number of decisions, such as selecting appropriate assessment tools and specific interventions, will need to be made at the program level. Also, it is recommended that programs that adopt these approaches form problem-solving teams, and provide teachers with ongoing professional development, to support classroom implementation.  In the meantime, you can review what you’ve learned about tiered instruction and determine where you need additional information before implementation.
